The Company

IdentityTruth® is a privately held, VC-funded company headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts. Investors include Argonaut Ventures and Stata Venture Partners. The Chief Executive Officer of IdentityTruth® is a successful technology entrepreneur whose previous ventures include two software companies: Epicon, acquired by Nortel Networks, and TeleGea, acquired by Ensim.

IdentityTruth® launched in September 2007.

Why Was It Developed?

IdentityTruth® was developed in order to provide consumers with a convenient, comprehensive tool for managing and safeguarding their identity. IdentityTruth's powerful, proprietary technology enables not only detection--but prediction of identity theft risks, making IdentityTruth® the only service that is Faster than Fraud™.

How Does It Work?

IdentityTruth® draws data from a wide variety of sources, analyzing the information and building an individual identity profile for each subscriber. IdentityTruth® applies sophisticated fraud models to this identity profile to determine risk and identify areas of potential fraud.

The personal data inputs used to build the profile go far beyond credit-based information-- providing a picture of the subscriber's entire identity. The results are reflected in the "My Risk" section of the subscriber dashboard; and the fraud-prevention recommendations are specific to the subscriber's identity profile. IdentityTruth® is the only service approaching the growing identity theft problem in this way. Unlike other services, IdentityTruth® is not merely reselling credit data, or placing fraud alerts.
