J2EE Application Developer

This position reports to the Director of Engineering. The developer performs application development for an consumer e-commerce web site. Most development work is performed in Java. Must be able to work without close supervision and be a quick Learner. The employee in this position works under the general supervision of the Director of Engineering, who reviews performance through based on results obtained.

Responsibilities

Develop web applications using J2EE technology and tools such as JSP and Java.
Use Spring and Hibernate frameworks
Learn new technologies and development tools as assigned.
Implement and/or document application designs and specifications.
Provide thorough testing and debugging of systems.
Assist in preparing application documentation and release notes.
Performs related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of training and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree
in computer science.

Technology Competencies

JBOSS/Tomcat, APACHE.
Hibernate, ANT, SOAP, and XDoclet optional
Oracle 9i, My SQL server
Demonstrated experience developing web applications using Java technology.
Experience with Spring and Hibernate using JPA frameworks
Demonstrated experience using XML a plus
Good knowledge of the Windows and Linux operating systems.
Familiarity with CVS code repository.
J2EE application development experience (at least 5 years)
Web services development and SOAP
Good understanding of transaction management and messaging in a J2EE environment a plus.
